Francesca D’Angelo & Hanadi Alnawab
Francesca teaches the FASH 3000 – 20th Century Fashion History course. In this course, students create an archive of their fashion history collection, organized into group exhibits, adopting a curatorial mindset, and demonstrating the added value of things. The semester culminates in a fashion history exhibit, where students showcase their curated pieces during a museum event at Humber’s Lakeshore campus.
Hanadi teaches the following courses in the Digital Business Management BComm program, where students apply their skills in a real-world setting by supporting the digital infrastructure of the Fashion History Museum and collaborating with museum curators:
- BUS 2504 – Web Development (semester 4): Students maintain and update the museum’s WordPress website as a live case study in class.
- BUS 3003 – Digital Systems & User-Centric Design (semester 5): Students use their UX/UI design skills in Figma to create an app prototype for the Fashion History Museum.
- DIGI 3502 – Database Systems (semester 6): Students develop and maintain an AtoM Archive system in partnership with Humber Libraries.

Cerulean
But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it’s sort of comical how you think that you’ve made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you’re wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of “stuff”.
