Brief description: Golden necklace with a heart charm and has a spring ring closure. It has 2 different length options. The necklace is now 5 years old and still belongs to Bridget van Tooren. The purpose of the necklace is to be worn. 

Physical description: A fine delicate golden necklace with a golden heart charm on it. The heart charm is made on the necklace by putting a horizontal hole through the heart. It has a spring ring closure with 2 different length options. 

Materials and technique: Made of gold and done by a goldsmith. 

Personal Connection: When I was in my teenage years, I had been struggling with depression and even got to the point where I didn’t wanted to live anymore and did self harm to cope with the emotions. I got specialized therapy and started to get better. Then in October 2018, it was my 1 year anniversary without self harm and I got the necklace from my mother as a present. She was so proud of me that I kept on fighting and was doing better. I didn’t fall back into that old pattern and it is a necklace that I now wear on special occasions and with a lot of pride. It reminds me that even though life can be hard, I will never give up and make it a life worth living.
